Fenway Park will become the second mass vaccination site in the state, joining Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, which first began offering shots mid-January. Vaccines will be distributed at Fenway Park from Feb. 1 until baseball season starts in early April.

As the fall semester concludes at schools across the state, data sourced from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health show a steeper rise in the number of new coronavirus cases per day than the number of new tests given per day. The distrust and vaccine hesitancy among the general public speaks to how long it will take to return to any semblance of normalcy. If we want to see pre-pandemic life restored by the end of next year, we’ll need a unified, national effort to continue wearing masks, practice social distancing and get vaccinated as soon as we’re able.
