Having a class crush is far more interesting but even more challenging in college than in high school. My roommates used to joke that the first day of class was always a big game of smash or pass.
As a freshman, I’ve been told that I have a whole four years to decide my academic and career paths. I know that I will have to settle for only one or two of my interests in the end. I entered BU with 32 AP credits. I thought this would give me an edge over my peers, potentially allowing me to graduate early. This was far from the truth.

CAS is launching new public speaking courses for Spring 2024, which students can now register for at their respective registration times, but are still undergoing the approval process for the BU Hub.
College of Arts and Sciences faculty voted in a meeting on Nov. 16 to require CAS students to complete a natural science course with a laboratory component in addition to standard Boston University HUB requirements.
Boston University students enrolled in Ancient Worlds have developed virtual tours featuring artwork from the MFA as well as other museums around the world.
While course registration depends largely on luck, some BU deans said factors such as canceled Study Abroad programming and shifts to the registration schedule might be partially to blame for classes filling up earlier this round.
The Hub has tremendous potential to grant undergraduates the freedom to learn at their own pace, to their own desires, while still providing the necessary guidance to developing minds.
