Boston University President Melissa Gilliam announced Wednesday in a campus-wide email that Colin S. Duckett, an immunologist and molecular biologist who currently works at Duke University, will replace Gloria Waters as provost and chief academic officer on July 1.

Boston University has new administrative leadership going into the 2023-2024 academic year, following the appointment, retirement and stepping down of top university administrators.

I want BU to be a place where students can feel safe. I want BU to be a place where the administration cares about its students. And I want BU to be a place where, if anyone is forced to be a survivor, they can feel supported by their school.
