Gov. Charlie Baker nominated Kimberly Budd on Wednesday to serve as chief justice of the Supreme Judicial Court, the state’s highest appellate court. If confirmed, the SJC associate justice would be the first Black woman to hold the top position. 

State courts will begin Phase 1 of their reopening plan and address non-emergency matters for the first time since March.

BUSG discussed plans for spring campus events, changes to the BUSG constitution and position openings on the executive board in their first meeting of the spring semester on Monday. Senate also passed a resolution that made edits to their constitution’s grammar.
