‘A profound misunderstanding’: BU faculty members voice concerns on White House AP ban

From the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963 to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, the Associated Press has been at the forefront of breaking news as a part of the White House press pool — until this month. White House officials declared Feb. 14 that AP journalists would be banned from “limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One” indefinitely.

BU searches for new Film and Television Department chair

Boston University’s Department of Film and Television is making a second attempt to search for a new department chair, according to a recent job listing on LinkedIn. Current FTV chair Paul Schneider said he tried to step down last year but remained on staff because a replacement could not be secured.

COM workshops to teach the seven skills of using data for storytelling

This summer, Boston University’s College of Communication will hold its fifth series of Data + Narratives Storytelling Workshops, a week-long program that trains students and professionals to interpret data sets to improve their storytelling skills. The workshops are the first of their kind in that they are designed for participants with three distinct levels of experience.
