It’s the holiday season, and I’m not sure how to curb these feelings of loneliness. Last Christmas I had a boyfriend, and now I don’t — but I still feel the same!
As the climate gets a little colder, and the rosey noses and puffer parkas emerge, there’s one thought that floods the minds of more people than just Buddy the Elf –– Christmas is coming! Oh, and Hanukkah, too.
You might assume the people walking around campus when the majority are home stayed in Boston because of travel issues or the unwillingness to spend upwards of $100 for a trip that lasts less than a week. But no one considers the small group that just doesn’t want to go home or doesn’t even have a home to return to.
I do love Christmas, but I am happy to hold off on singing, “Santa Baby” for a bit longer in order to have some Thanksgiving fun. Because Thanksgiving is so much fun! You get to make people go around the table and thank you for a bunch of things! What other day can you do that?
Cheers erupted in the Boston Common as a nearly 60-year-old, 48-foot tree was lit for the 80th annual Boston Holiday Tree Lighting. Bostonians were excited to be back to Boston Common after last year’s virtual celebration.
