BU students housed in Hyatt hotel face lengthy laundry commute, expensive laundry plans

By Daniela Ginsburg, Campus Associate Editor March 5, 2026
Boston University students placed in the Hyatt Regency hotel in Cambridge by BU Housing have two options for laundry: Use any of the on-campus laundry facilities or purchase one of four laundry plans, which range from $379 to $999.  However, the closest campus laundry facility to the Hyatt is Warren Towers, a 24-minute walk across the BU bridge, and a six-minute ride on the shuttle, which runs every 15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the academic year Monday to Friday, and every 20 minutes on the weekend. BU students placed in the Hyatt, which began as a housing option in Fall 2024, described this process as “time-consuming” and the laundry plans offered as “costly.”
