The MarMon Cheesers prepare for Marathon Monday 2025, brings business to Allston

While procrastinating for an exam one night, now seniors Rafaele DiMaggio and Axel Bautista-Tienda theorized that they could make money from selling grilled cheeses on Pratt Street, an area known for its fraternity presence. DiMaggio and Bautista-Tienda decided to bring a modified version of that idea to life for Marathon Monday 2024 by selling grilled cheese and pizza out of the Gardner Court Apartments — locally known as “G-Court.”

Ladies I Am Right: Why we celebrate the Boston Marathon

My dad signed me up for a running club at home two years ago. Once or twice every week, I get an email update about the races that everyone is signing up for, including which ones need volunteers and who’s going to be helping out. Less frequently — thank goodness — I get an email about a member that has passed away or an announcement that a family member of theirs passing. The club gets together to mourn and celebrate the life together. At race day, members high-five and celebrate each other’s accomplishments.
