The mental-health toll of the pandemic has affected many lives, but, according to a CDC study, the percent of individuals aged 18 to 29 experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression continues to soar past the national adult average. BU students reflected on the pandemic's mental health challenges on the year anniversary, and said they are still working to get better.
I want to point out that recent events under the Trump administration have negatively changed the world’s perception of this country. However, I believe in second chances, and I think the United States can regain its popularity around the world.
Boston University’s Fitness and Recreation Center opened its doors for the Spring semester Friday.
Reservations — which can be made up to three days in advance — are required for recreational gym use. Students can reserve one time slot per day for a 90-minute session.
Since the Fall, students living in on-campus dormitories have been expected to form “households” within their residences and establish COVID-19 residential protocols on mask-wearing and social distancing based on each other's personal preferences.
However, some students were sent a stricter set of residential COVID-19 protocols by their resident assistants for the Spring semester than in the Fall.
“The time stands still,’” said Cynthia Goldberg, the director of the F8 Foundation. “The moment you see your family, you feel as if you're taken off of life support and you can breathe.”
“We even got to some conditions this summer where things were so dry that even a cigarette butt thrown out the window on the roadside could ignite cured-off and dry grasses.”
