A stressed girl’s guide to studying abroad

As my Dublin study abroad program comes to an end, I want to reflect on my time in Europe. I would like to share what went right, what went wrong and all of the insight I have for those  interested in studying abroad at some point. To get the dramatics out of the way, studying abroad has truly changed my life, and I could not have imagined a better experience. While there were many ups and downs, the experience shaped me in a way I am incredibly grateful for.

Last week, one of my friends reached out to me about her nerves surrounding going abroad next semester. She’s excited and knows it is the right decision for her, but she’s also nervous about being away for so long.  I’ve been thinking a lot about studying abroad in the future, too. Leaving the country can evoke competing emotions — anticipation for a new adventure, but also a fear of the unknown. Not to mention, it can be scary leaving a lot of relationships back in Boston.

Music has the ability to speak for a wide range of experiences. It can resonate across various groups of people who have nothing in common but a shared appreciation for lyrics. There is a certain power in a song's ability to align with how you have been feeling and speak the words that you’ve been trying so hard to find.
