Little bets

I could have missed out on big lessons and big wins because I decided not to take a risk. Maybe that’s the riskiest thing of all. Because who knows — my $5 could turn into $500, $1000 or a billion dollars. Probably not a billion, but still — little bets can go a long way.

An Ode to My Uber Driver

I make it a point to ask my Uber drivers how their day is going, maybe even strike up a conversation about where they’re from or what they do. Those who are receptive to it turn it into a peaceful conversation — something to pass the time on the drive. Sometimes it doesn’t go anywhere, and you just have to respect that, but most of the time you can tell they appreciate your empathy and will engage just as far as you’re willing.

Boston University student workers hold three-union rally

Three BU unions — BU ResLife Union, BU Graduate Workers Union and BU Part-Time Faculty — rallied at the George Sherman Union on Oct. 20 about their recent ratified bargaining demands and marched to 1 Silber Way to deliver their demands to University administrators.
