As a recent graduate of CGS and a student in COM, I observed this week’s growing animosity towards the college with a feeling of unfound anger toward my fellow peers, who are generally bright, but in this case, are flat-out ignorant when making sweeping derogatory claims about CGS.
The one golden characteristic that distinguishes CGS from other colleges on campus is the availability and dedication of my former professors. In my rhetoric class, Professor Young brought me to a new understanding about the power and impact of the written word. In social science, Professor Grasso taught me the most important lesson of all: to learn from the wisdom of others, but above all, to develop my own mind and think for myself. If I didn’t have the privilege of learning from such professors, I would not be the happy and successful student I am at COM today.
Experience is key when it comes to judgment. Be it a good or bad experience, only students who have graduated from the program have any insightful and credible commentary. They certainly override the thousands of others who are so quick to judge something they really know nothing about.
