Three hundred seventy-one days after the same fixture last season, the Boston University men’s soccer team faced off against Colgate University in the Patriot League tournament semifinal at Nickerson Field on Tuesday night.

After winning both the regular season and postseason Patriot League titles, the Boston University men’s soccer team fell 3-1 to reigning national champion Syracuse University in the first round of the NCAA Men’s College Cup on Thursday night.
The men's soccer team heads into the Patriot League tournament with the first seed after their win, capturing the highest number of standings points since joining the PL.
The Boston University men’s soccer team drew against Harvard University in a hard-fought match in Allston, continuing a seven-game unbeaten streak despite challenges away from Nickerson.
Over 4,000 miles separate the three cities that Alex Bonnington has called home in the last two years. He left his hometown of Rotherham and came across the pond to play soccer for Duke University in Durham, North Carolina last year, and after a season hampered by injury, he transferred to Boston University. This fall, he’s earned consistent minutes with the Terriers as the men’s soccer program looks to build on one of its strongest starts in recent history.

The Boston University men’s soccer team (4-2-0, 1-0-0 Patriot League) won their first conference match of the season after defeating Lehigh University (0-4-2, 0-1-0 PL) at Nickerson Field with a final score of 2-0.
After watching their 2022 season come to an end in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals following a 10-round penalty shootout, the Boston University men’s soccer team looks to build on the momentum of the 2022 campaign and aim high in 2023.
