Zindagi Ka Safar: BU Suno’s Annual Spring Showcase

Saturday, April 19, 5-7 p.m.; PHO 206, 8 St. Mary’s St., Boston

BU Suno presents its annual spring showcase, “Zindagi Ka Safar,” which translates to “life’s journey.” The event highlights musical performances celebrating the “musical talent and diversity of South Asian culture,” according to the event description. The showcase will also feature guest performances from other groups across BU and Boston. Tickets are $3 for BU students and $5 for non-BU students. 

 

BU Stage Troupe presents “You Can’t Take It With You”

Thursday, April 17 to Saturday, April 19, 8-10:30 p.m.; Student Theater at Agganis Arena, 925 Commonwealth Ave., Boston

BU Stage Troupe presents “You Can’t Take It With You,” a classic comedy that follows the eccentric Vanderhof family as they navigate love, life and the question of what really matters. When Alice, the family’s granddaughter, falls for Tony, the son of a wealthy Wall Street family, their mismatched worlds collide. Tickets are $9 for BU students and $12 for non-BU students. 

 

Intercollegiate Poetry Showcase with Mass Poetry

Thursday, April 17, 6-8 p.m.; Menschel Hall, Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy St., Cambridge

Celebrate National Poetry Month with Mass Poetry and the Harvard Art Museums at this annual showcase featuring professor-nominated undergraduate poets from more than 15 Greater Boston colleges. Each student will present original work, and the evening includes a keynote address from a local poet. Admission is free, but seating is limited and registration is encouraged. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. 

 

Trident Booksellers Book Club: “Sunrise on the Reaping”

Thursday, April 17, 7-9 p.m.; Trident Booksellers & Café, 338 Newbury St., Boston

Join fellow Hunger Games enthusiasts to discuss “Sunrise on the Reaping,” the latest release in Suzanne Collins’ series. Discuss the character Haymitch’s newly revealed backstory with other fans. Admission is $5, which includes a $5 voucher redeemable during the event. Seating begins at 6 p.m.
