“Speak Your Truth,” a social event hosted by the Howard Thurman Center, brought students, faculty and staff together to share their experiences and thoughts on diversity last Thursday. The Faculty and Staff of Color Community Network, Howard Thurman Center and BU Office of the Senior Diversity Officer co-hosted the event, which included spoken word poetry.
The director for BU's Center for Antiracist Research, along with HTC student ambassadors, answered questions about identity, civic engagement and activism.
Overall, the efforts BU has made on GivingTuesday should still be recognized. But, the administration should remember that in order for its fundraising to make a genuine impact, it first and foremost needs to demonstrate transparency and accountability.
