Boston University men’s hockey coach Jack Parker is in recovery mode after undergoing heart bypass surgery July 23.
The 65-year-old Parker, who will be entering his 38th season behind the bench when the Terriers hit the ice in October, is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery, according to a statement released by the BU Athletic Department.
“The entire BU community wishes Jack a speedy recovery and respects his privacy during this time,” said BU Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics Mike Lynch in the statement. “We look forward to seeing him lead the Terriers on the ice this fall.”
By all accounts, Parker will be back to his regular post by the team’s first game, an Oct. 2 exhibition at home against the University of Toronto.
