Your dorm is your home for the year, and you should be able to make it feel like a home — even if that means having difficult conversations about floor space, an obnoxious amount of posters or even a few too many Squishmallows.
So, take a deep breath and trust yourself. Personal style is always a work in progress — especially when you are diving into a whole new branch of fashion culture. Try the things you like and see what sticks.
The way of surviving life and situationships is that you have to know that you can’t control someone’s thoughts or actions — you can only control your own. Here are just a few tidbits of advice and lessons I’ve learned that have helped me navigate my experiences with situationships.
I’ve learned that it’s okay not to have all the answers, and it’s okay to speak up even if it feels risky. Following your heart is important, even when it doesn’t make sense. You can’t control the future, so focus on the present and speak up when you feel compelled to do so.
Let me tell you a secret: no matter how sexually confident someone comes across — and no matter how many people they’ve kissed or hooked up with — deep down, most of us are all experiencing one major feeling — doubt.
Somewhere along the line, we were sold the idea that romantic love is the ultimate prize and that being single is some kind of failure. We’ve been conditioned to think that if you're not in a relationship, you're somehow incomplete. But, here’s the truth — romantic love is just one kind of love. It’s not the centerpiece of life unless you make it that way. Honestly, that’s a pretty fragile foundation to build your happiness on.
Valentine's Day is the Superbowl of holidays for serious relationships. Whether it’s been one year or five — it’s your time to shine. Not everything can be wrapped up with a bow, but some things can. If you’re in the market for tangible gifts, listen up.
Well, Beyoncé said it best — if you like it, then you should probably put a ring on it. You know, just in case somebody else does.
“Single Ladies” perhaps takes a bit too literal of an approach to the message here, but you get the idea: don’t take for granted what’s right in front of your face. And when it comes to relationships, sometimes the solution to that thing is a ring — a promise ring, to be exact.
