BU Shanghai Internship Program canceled for cohort of international students

The Boston University Shanghai Internship Program was canceled for the Spring semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those accepted into the program were a cohort of international students living in China, who are now re-registering for classes on the Charles River Campus.

International students contemplate risks of heading home this winter

From fears of losing their student visas over the summer to waking up in the middle of the night for classes halfway across the world, international students at BU have faced many challenges over the past few months.
Boston University’s study abroad programs were canceled in all European cities, including Paris, after the Centers for Disease Control issued a travel ban for the continent on March 11. Study abroad students sent home amid COVID-19 outbreak

All study abroad programs were canceled by BU Global Programs in light of the global coronavirus outbreak. Students will continue courses and fulfill internship credits remotely, according to an email from Executive Director of Study Abroad Gareth McFeely.

Coronavirus outbreak means added concerns for international students

BU suspended its Shanghai study abroad program at Fudan University due to the coronavirus outbreak in January. As of recently, however, there has been an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus in Italy, where BU students are studying abroad.

BU discourages travel to China

BU has announced that they are officially discouraging all university-sponsored travel to China in an email to the community Feb. 19. The warning comes after the widespread outbreak of the coronavirus, which recently led to the cancellation of BU’s study abroad program in Shanghai.
