A one-alarm fire broke out in West Campus’ Sleeper Hall late Sunday night, prompting building residents to evacuate, according to Boston Fire Department spokesperson Steve MacDonald.
BFD responded to a call at 10:18 p.m. alerting the department to the fire, which MacDonald said was contained to one room on the second floor of the building. Officers from the Boston Police Department and Boston University Police Department aided the BFD in evacuating residents and extinguishing the fire.
BFD District Chief Garry Pilato said the department had to shut off Sleeper’s power and water because the building’s second floor was flooding from the sprinklers.
MacDonald reported no injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
