Campus Crime Logs: Sept. 29-Oct. 4

The following reports were taken from the Boston University Police Department’s crime logs from Sept. 29 to Oct. 4.

Boston University Police Department. This week’s crime logs include graffiti, a noise complaint and a panic alarm. HOLLY GUSTAVSEN/ DFP PHOTOGRAPHER.

Noise complaint at 5 Buswell St. 

At 10:27 p.m. on Sept. 29, a caller reported a motorcyclist “looping the block loudly” for 20 minutes. 

Fire alarm/code red at 808 Commonwealth Ave. 

At 2:19 p.m. on Sept. 30, a caller reported a smoking object in front of the building. The Boston Fire Department was on the scene. The item was a dropped cell phone that had caught on fire.

Panic alarm at 275 Babcock St.

At 8:17 p.m. on Sept. 30, a panic alarm rang at a cash register in West Campus Dining Hall. Officers reset the alarm. 

Fire drill at 665 Commonwealth Ave.

At 1:56 p.m. on Oct. 1, the fire alarm on the 14th floor of the Center for Computing and Data Sciences went off. BFD was notified and confirmed that it was a test. 

Past vehicle accident at 925 Commonwealth Ave.

At 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 2, an officer noticed a car that seemed to have been in an accident was still running, but no driver was around. The case was referred to BPD. 

Attempt to commit crime at 32 Harry Agganis Way 

At 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 2, a party who lived off campus stated that they received a fraudulent check for a BU job. There was no loss of currency or personal information. 

Disorderly person at 500 Commonwealth Ave.

At 7:28 p.m. on Oct. 2, a caller reported two parties on scooters yelling and spitting at them. BPD was notified. 

Tagging/graffiti at 881 Commonwealth Ave.

At 9:02 p.m. on Oct. 2, a Residence Life worker reported two parties putting fliers on light posts. The BUPD unit reported that there were no threats or hate speech on the fliers and that they were all on public property. 

Suspicious person at 208 Bay State Rd. 

At 9:57 p.m. on Oct. 3, a caller reported a party in the lobby trying to gain access to other buildings “up and down the street.” 

Hazardous condition at 33 Harry Agganis Way

At 9:32 p.m. on Oct. 4, a detail unit reported a forklift operator struck a light post. BU Facilities was notified and reported there was no immediate hazard.
