First nor’easter of the year to pummel Massachusetts until Saturday

The storm is expected to bring 4-6 inches of rain and 40 mph gusts to the Boston area. The National Weather Service warns of possible scattered power outages and downed tree limbs.

Boston awarded $1.4 million to bolster disaster preparedness

The grant will go towards bolstering post-disaster housing and inter-regional disaster planning. Officials urged students to begin planning in case of disaster, as all are at risk in an emergency.
