The following reports were taken from the Boston Police Department’s District 14 (Allston-Brighton) crime logs from the period of Sept. 6 through Sept. 12.
A Brighton man was arrested for attempting to sell drugs to two undercover police officers in the rear of the Blanchard’s Bottled Liquors parking lot at the corner of Harvard Avenue and Brighton Avenue on Friday at 2:15 p.m.
Alberto D. Garcia, 41, of 14 Fidelis Way in Brighton approached the two drug control officers in the rear of the parking lot on his bicycle. Garcia, according to a report, said “I have good weed” and offered it to the officers for $20. The officers continued with the transaction and as Garcia began to remove marijuana from his back pocket, the officers arrested him.
Police later found an additional bag of marijuana, one paper fold containing marijuana and another bag of white rock believed to be crack cocaine.
Garcia’s bicycle was held at the station.
PRATT STREET MAYHEM
A police officer was assaulted Sunday night while he attempted to subdue an intoxicated man at 44 Pratt St. Two additional officers saw the altercation, which occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m.
When the two patrolling officers arrived, they found William Anderson arguing with an officer on foot. After approaching the suspect, one of the officers was punched in the stomach by Anderson. The three officers struggled to control Anderson for about five minutes, after which they were able to handcuff him.
After being taken back to the police station, Anderson became belligerent again and tried to kick officers while he was still handcuffed. Officers cuffed his ankles in an effort to calm him down and placed him in a cell until he agreed to cooperate.
Anderson suffered minor injuries but was unable to be treated immediately because of his failure to cooperate – one of the officers involved also complained of pain and swelling in his right leg.
Three men were also arrested at around 12:15 a.m. Sunday night after neighbors complained that their Pratt Street party was too loud and out of control and that they were failing to cooperate with officers.
The officers approached Noah Wolf, 21, of Allston who was reportedly one of the 11 residents of the house. Wolf was having a loud talk with some guests when officers arrived, was advised to end the party and told he would be arrested if the party continued.
Ryan Farley, 25, of Allston, was one of a large, rowdy and intoxicated group partying in the backyard of the house. The officer warned the group to stop drinking in public and leave the area. Farley continued to “chug” his beer in front of the officer, and was immediately arrested while guests left the house.
Eric Gosselin, 22, of Allston, then tried to interfere with Farley’s arrest. Gosselin became increasingly disruptive after police told him he would not be able to prevent Farley from being arrested and Gosselin was subsequently arrested as well.
Officers saw Wolf was still holding a loud conversation and had not broken up the party. Wolf was also arrested after he ignored the officers.
The three men were taken to the Allston-Brighton Police Station. The eight other residents of the Pratt Street apartment were successful in breaking up the party.
