During an election year, newspapers' opinion pages usually endorse presidential candidates. Usually. However, during this election, more news organizations than ever are opting-out of an official endorsement.

College of Communication professor David Abel's newest climate change documentary, “Inundation District,” was featured as the closing night film of the GlobeDocs Film Festival this Sunday.
I make it a point to ask my Uber drivers how their day is going, maybe even strike up a conversation about where they’re from or what they do. Those who are receptive to it turn it into a peaceful conversation — something to pass the time on the drive. Sometimes it doesn’t go anywhere, and you just have to respect that, but most of the time you can tell they appreciate your empathy and will engage just as far as you’re willing.
On Sept. 1, I received an email from the Boston Globe opinion section. I have the bad habit of allowing these emails to build up like dust in my inbox, unread and unnoticed, but the headline — which addressed a nameless subject — caught my attention. It read: “We can’t miss you if you won’t go away.”
Over the years, filmmakers have chosen to use different parts of BU's campus as a set for a number of blockbuster movies, from the BU Castle to Fenway Campus.
Abel, a professor of the practice in the journalism department and award-winning filmmaker, hopes teaching science journalism will “cast light on all kinds of false claims and disinformation about climate change.”
