With experiencing a breakup comes lots of mourning and grieving. You grieve the loss of so many things –– not just the relationship but everything that came with it: the friendship, the partnership, the dependence, everything.
In my senior year of high school, I listened to Faye Webster every single day. Whether I was driving home from school or doing homework, her smooth, dreamy voice was always playing in the background. I finally got to see her in concert this year, and this experience made her one of my favorite artists of all time.
Listen, I will be the first to admit that the bar isn’t always the place to be. Sometimes it’s too empty, sometimes it’s too full. Sometimes the drinks are too expensive, sometimes they’re too strong — wait, who am I kidding? The latter would be a dream! I wish I could be so lucky!

As I scroll down my phone every night, a question invariably plagues my mind. Am I a decent human being? Why am I so different from others? If you too grapple with these questions and bear the weight of sadness, sensitivity and self-doubt, then this story is for you.
Working in a candy store, seeing Harriet the not-so-little kid coming in every day, gave me
