It’s never an ordinary fall day in Stars Hollow, where the town puts on numerous traditions, such as the Autumn Festival, the Town Hayride and the 24-hour Dance-a-Thon. Maybe you’ll find that cozying up with a cup of coffee and a pumpkin muffin and putting on one of these episodes will transport you to the picturesque New England town the Gilmores reside in.

It’s the perfect time to wind down with a blanket, some snacks and a good movie or TV show to fully embrace the fall vibes. As we leave the summer of brother love triangles and cowboys behind — if you know, you know — here are a few of my favorite movies and TV shows to get you into the swing of fall.
Sure, it’s exciting to watch the main character navigate through their life and be forced to pick teams. But if this were your life, would you really enjoy being an option? Or if you were the one stuck in the middle, would it be morally right for you to string both of them along until you get to choose?

Most of us, as young adults going through various emotionally intense situations, at some point may have romanticized the persona of the sad autumn girl. It’s true — there is beauty in that, too, in that quiet existence and that longing for something more out of life. At least, that’s what I feel every time I’m walking down BU’s Comm Ave. and an autumn leaf just happens to flutter past me. In that moment, I become the main character in my favorite Jane Austen novel, carried along not by dialogue on a page but by lyrics that feel like they were written just for me.
And we’re not going to act like exams and assignments are fun either. What you can do, though, is make all the “fluff” around even the most boring classes more enjoyable. One of my favorite tricks? Create an alter ego: step into a persona who studies the way you wish you did. So this fall, I suggest we steal some moves from our favorite study icons from movies and TV.
If you’re a TV show connoisseur, and we have the same taste, I hope this serves as a helpful guide for some songs to add to your library. If you spot one of your favorite songs but have yet to see the show I associate it with, I hope this encourages you to give it a watch as well.
There is no shortage of romance novels in bookstores, but finding the right one can prove difficult — especially when you have specific taste. Whether you’re a hopeless romantic or a heartbreaker, let me offer some romance novel recommendations to warm your heart during this chilly Valentine’s Day season.
