If you feel called to it, invest your time through volunteering, donating or simply educating yourself. Politics will always be messy and tiring, but caring requires persistence and the ability to move forward. The world doesn’t need more people who’ve stopped caring. It needs people who’ve learned how to care responsibly, while keeping the possibility of change alive.
We have constructed a political discourse so detached from historical reality that we cannot acknowledge what every serious student of social change knows: Significant transformation has rarely occurred through purely peaceful means.
For nearly nine decades, America has undeniably been the most powerful country in the world. We held hard power — military and economic leverage — with a terrifyingly strong and intact military from the end of the Second World War through the Cold War to today with an insane amount of defense spending.
We currently vote with the first-past-the-post plurality voting system. Its biggest flaw was a high source of discussion during the 2024 presidential election — the spoiler effect, where a candidate destined to lose, such as Jill Stein or Robert F. Kennedy Jr., could affect the results of the election by pulling votes from actual, possible candidates.
We instead must find authenticity in our narratives, instead of scraping for diversity that never even existed. Maybe then — finally — we can believe equality is more than a political agenda.
Before advocating for governmental change based on religious beliefs, people need to think beyond themselves and understand their privilege. This statement has less to do with my political stance or even faith and more with my belief that religion should not be involved in politics whatsoever.

I told him that this makes me upset given some of the opposing candidate’s policies, but he won’t listen. I know I should probably agree to disagree, but that doesn’t sit right with me. But what has made the last four months so unique? Without a doubt, the past few years could go down in American history as their own era — and let it be on the record that I think these years should be named the “Unprecedented Era.”
Playing the long game with climate change politics can be rough, but it might also be our only solution. As cliché as it sounds, some climate action is better than none.
